Coronation Street has started a tragic storyline for Sinead Tinker tonight which will see her diagnosed with cervical cancer – putting both her life and the life of her unborn baby at risk. It is set to be a hard hitting and devastating plotline for the long suffering character over coming months and the first worrying signs played out in scenes which saw her start bleeding during a conversation with Carla Connor.
Carla took Sinead to hospital where Sinead was relieved to be told that her baby is fine. But when there are several more instances of bleeding down the line, Sinead will return to the doctor and tests will reveal a shattering diagnosis.
A source recently told Metro.co.uk: Sinead and Daniel have everything to look forward to but this diagnosis will shatter everything. Sinead will learn that she has cervical cancer and it will leave her with some impossible decisions to confront.
Can she and Daniel stick together and will she survive? It all remains to be seen – but it is destined to be emotional.
The last time Corrie confronted cervical cancer saw the death of Alma Baldwin, a story that was controversial at the time.
