EastEnders has tonight confirmed the identity of Hayley as the latest member of the Slater family to land in Walford – and she is sticking around with cousin Stacey Fowler!
Viewers have been wondering who Hayley is since seeing her target Martin and then speak on the phone to an anonymous person as she planned to take him down. When Stacey later came face to face with Hayley, she confirmed her identity and the pair formed a plan to trap Martin.
As Hayley flirted with him and spent the day with him and the kids, she led him astray, ensuring that he ignored Stacey’s calls and was late getting the children back to her. In response, Stacey turned up with the police and Martin was genuinely crushed that things had got so out of hand.
As Hayley later visited Stacey, Stacey expressed her guilt at tricking Martin but Hayley commented that Slaters sometimes have to play dirty and there’s no shame in that. She added that Walford wasn’t as much of a dump as she thought it was and hinted that she would be hanging about for longer.
Speaking about her new role, Katie Jarvis, who plays her, enthused: ‘I am really excited to join a team of such lovely, talented people and become part of such an iconic show. I’ve always loved the Slater family so being the newest member, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. It’s going to be so much fun and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for Hayley.’
However, with Stacey only just recently realising who Hayley is, the question remains around who sent her to Albert Square in the first place. Could it have been Kat Moon, who is soon set to arrive back herself as Jessie Wallace reprises her role?
