Evangeline Lilly has admitted that she almost quit acting completely after getting shocked at how famous she had become.
The actress shot into the spotlight thanks to cult hit Lost, but she didnt realise how international her fame had become until she starred alongside Hugh Jackman in Reel Steel in 2011.
She told Hollywood Reporter: I was instantly launched into international stardom, and that was really uncomfortable for me.
I instantly balked, didnt know how to deal with it and felt very uncomfortable after that situation. I ended up deciding to retire after I finished Lost.
In fact, she initially stuck to her words, and spent time away from the screen to write and have children.
However, after being lured back into acting by Peter Jackson for The Hobbit, and she returned in 2013 as Tauriel.
I had a wonderful time making that movie, she said. One of the highlights in my life was living in New Zealand for that year and being a part of that family.
That helped opened my eyes to the fact that, okay, this job can be a joy, its just a matter of how you approach it, and what you do with it, how much I put myself out there, and to a certain degree, how much I work, she added.
From that point on she was back in the game – and shes soon to return to our screens in Ant-Man and the Wasp, becoming an official MCU hero.
Hope Van Dyne will be uniting with Ant-Man Scott Lang for the new adventure, which will be hitting screens on 3 August.
