Dave Bautista has admitted that he is ready to ask Marvel to write him out of the Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise if they dont use ousted director James Gunns script for the upcoming volume three.

Bautistas strong claims come days after he accused Disney of supporting a smear campaign after the movie studio fired Gunn over offensive tweets; the cast of Guardians Of The Galaxy posted an open letter via Chris Pratts Instagram in support of the director, calling for him to be reinstated.

Where Im at right now is that if [Marvel] dont use that script, then Im going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me, Bautista told Shortlist.

Id be doing James a disservice if I didnt, he added.

Reacting to the controversy, Bautista tweeted on 6 August: I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for.

GOTG w/o @JamesGunn just isnt GOTG [sic].

Bautista, 52, who plays the character Drax, then appeared to take aim at Disney and the Daily Caller, the right-wing newspaper which published Gunns historic tweets, adding: Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone whod empower a smear campaign by fascists. Thats just how I feel.

Disney fired Gunn, preventing him from being able to direct Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, after a string of social media posts of his were unearthed which made light of subjects like paedophilia and rape.

One tweet read: I like when little boys touch me in my silly place.

Another read: The best thing about being raped is when youre done being raped and its like, “whew this feels great, not being raped!”

In a statement, Walt Disney Studios chairman said: The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studios values and we have severed our business relationship with him.
