The first teaser trailer for the Mulan live-action remake has been released by Disney.

It stars Liu Yifei in the title role and follows the story of the original animated movie which was produced in 1998.

The cast will also include Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Jason Scott Lee as Bori Khan, and Jet Li as The Emperor.

Following the first look at the new movie, many fans have been wondering whether the dragon Mushu will make an appearance.

Is Mushu going to be in the Mulan live-action movie?

Disney has yet to confirm whether Mushu will be included in the live-action version of the movie.

The dragon didnt appear at any point during the first teaser trailer for the new film, which has left some fans worried that he wont be appearing at all.

Its possible that the character could show up in a smaller role, or the original Mushu could be acknowledged at some point without actually being a character.

Following the realism that some of the more recent Disney remakes have had, its possible that the creators have decided to step away from including a talking Chinese dragon.

The serious nature of the trailer could also mean there isnt room for the style of comedy that fans enjoyed when Eddie Murphy voiced him.

Its unlikely that fans will get to see Mushu in a similar way to his original appearance, but we can still hold out hope that he will be included in some way.
