He might have missed out on the role of Elvis Presley in the new biopic but theres an equally awesome role Harry Styles could very soon be playing – Prince Eric in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
In what can only be the most perfect casting ever, Hazza is said to be in early negotiations for the role in the latest of our childhood Disney faves to be getting a reboot for 2019, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The news comes after Halle Bailey was confirmed to be taking on the leading role of Ariel, and that Melissa McCarthy, Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina are also in talks for roles in the movie.
Lizzo – of twerking while playing the flute fame… and also putting out huge tunes, obvs – has also put herself forward for the role of Ursula the sea witch, though theres been no news yet on whether that will go ahead.
Given that Halle is taking on the lead role and Harry might be her handsome prince, the music is bound to play a huge part in the remake – given that in the original movie Prince Eric didnt actually have any songs, we might get some new tracks from Harry.
The movie originally came out thirty years ago this year, in 1989, and won the best original song and score Oscars after its release.
Harry has been turning his hand to acting following the insane success of One Direction – who are currently still on an indefinite hiatus – and made an impressive debut in Christopher Nolans WWII drama Dunkirk.
He reportedly screen tested for the role of Elvis Presley in the upcoming Baz Luhrmann biopic, but lost out on the role to Austin Butler, it was confirmed yesterday.
