Chris Hemsworth donned a 70lb fat suit to take on the next frontier of Thor in Avengers: Endgame – and boy did it look like a challenge to get on and off.
The actor transformed from the chiselled Norse god into a man whod let himself go following defeat at the hands of Thanos. But rather than just growing out his beard and sinking the tinnies one by one, bosses decided to go one step further.
Enter, the prosthetic masterpiece that is Thors fat suit.
In a clip released by Marvel overnight, Australian actor Chris is filmed making his transformation into the pot-bellied Thor.
Three men struggled to lift the plastic apparatus onto the actor for the Russo brothers-directed film, as all hands on deck were called upon in the make-up trailer that day.
Being able to do this new version of Thor is highly liberating and fun, Chris told behind-the-scenes cameras as he shimmied into the suit, created for scenes he wasnt wearing a top.
He explained the outfit, which consisted of a nude torso complete with bosoms and a belly, strapped into him like a reverse backpack and weighed 60 or 70lb.
Chris added: It was the hottest Ive ever been.
He continued: We had the beard, the hair and these things that go in the mouth and plump out the cheeks a bit – which probably had an effect on the voice.
His Avengers co-stars chimed into the conversation, with Paul Rudd waxing lyrical over the transformation Chris made in the Marvel Cinematic Universe epic.
