Gemma Chan is reportedly in talks with Marvel to star in upcoming ancient tale The Eternals, and it could be a history-making role.
Of course, Gemma isnt exactly new to the superhero world having played Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel earlier this year.
According to Variety, its unclear if the 36-year-old will play the same role in The Eternals and insiders say its likely she could play an entirely different character.
If she does bag a spot in the star-studded cast, it will be one of the first times a Marvel star has played two different characters in the same universe.
The publication states that Marvel declined to comment on the reports but shall we start a petition to get Gemma in?
In April, Gemma said she was in the dark over whether Minn-Erva would return to the MCU but revealed she would love to see a spin-off with the character and Thors Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson.
Erm, yes please.
Speaking to Harpers Bazaar, the British actress said: I loved Valkyrie. I love Tessa Thompson. She had so much fun with it.
I reckon Minn-Erva and Valkyrie would have fun together. A buddy comedy, perhaps. They could go party together. I think theyd have a great time. Wouldnt they?
Gemma also praised the studio for finally putting a female superhero at the front of their movies with Captain Marvel, stating: [Marvel] realised they need to move things forward a bit.
In some ways, this films a bit overdue. I mean, 21 [movies]! Im really glad this film has been made. They cant really go back now. Were going in the right direction.
The Eternals is set millions of years before the events of the Avengers gang and will follow a set of superheroes on their battle against the villainous group The Deviants.
